Bio Sketch

The Uganda TB Implementation Research Consortium (U-TIRC) is a collaboration between research Scientists at Makerere University, Uganda National TB and Leprosy Program Ministry of Health and research scientists from UCSF, Yale, Johns Hopkins, NY university, and LSHTM.

U-TIRC focuses on improving TB diagnosis and clinical care by conducting high-quality clinical, epidemiological and implementation science research that seeks to identify barriers to TB evaluation, to develop implementation strategies to address the barriers and to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of these strategies health centers in Uganda. Our key approach is to:

1) Carry out research in partnership with local communities through community engagement.

2) Prioritise work that considers issues that are important to patients through our patient centered approaches.

3) Prioritise the study of processes and outcomes that are important to patients.

U-TIRC has a diverse team of individuals collaborating to provide an excellent experience together with the communities we work with.
